It’s Almost Halloween!
The spookiest night of the season is almost here and we’re soaking up every bit of magic and hocus Pocus that we can to carry with us. The fun isn’t over just yet though! So gather around you boo-tiful witches & check out our tips for having a good time this Halloween!
Fun Night In…
Carving pumpkins is so last year. And every year before that if we’re being completely honest. So to switch things up we’re tossing this age old tradition to the side in order to make way for our latest & new favorite pumpkin themed activity.
Forget that!
We’re painting them.
Here’s our tips:
- Head down to your local store and pick out your pumpkins of choice, size & shape doesn’t matter. We found our uniquely shaped pumpkins at Trader Joe’s for a great price!
- Pick up some acrylic paint (we used the brand Liquitex) along with a variety of paint brushes in different sizes. Find these supplies at a local craft store like Michaels, or something similar, like Amazon (which isn’t our fave to mention, but we know it’s a convenient option…effing Jeff Besos).
- Spread some newspaper (do these things exist anymore?!), or something of the like over your crafting area & paint your heart out! Use our lovely masterpieces below as your guide for inspo.
FANG-TASTIC TIP: Make it a contest! Have everyone bring a painted pumpkin or set up a pumpkin painting station. Then let the guests vote on their favorite one. Hey, everything is more fun when it’s a competition & you're playing for money.

Every party needs a snack!
Let’s build a char-BOO-terie board together!
Gather your favorite meats like salami, ham, capicola & pepperoni.
Pick out your dairy slices of choice. We love gouda, swiss, & a slice or two of brie.
Spread out your crackers & above mentioned selections on a wooden board or platter.
Then fill in the gaps with dried fruits, nuts, or grapes. And you can add some candy corn or chocolate covered pretzels if you have a sweet tooth like we do!
Be fancy & let a mini jar of honey or jam be the star of the show!
Too lazy to make your own trick-or-treat?
There is a local company (@elcharcuterie) that will make one for you and deliver it to your house. Find them on Instagram and send them a DM for all the ordering details!
Here’s one we found on Goldbelly.com you can order online as well.
Okay. Cheese that look like bats & ghosts? Sign us up.
Tag us in your pics at @conceptsreno if you make one! We’d love to see.
Go Out!
Head to a favorite local bar, The Emerson Bar located in Midtown, is hosting a Halloween event on the 29th from 9pm-1am.
American Horror Story Style!
Come dressed up as your fave character from the show & scare everyone’s socks (& boots) off while enjoying their specialty crafted cocktails & vibes that are aesthetically pleasing.

Call the glam squad, we need our claws done before the nightmare begins! Here’s two takes on how you can make your pointers look polished & posh for that pumpkin themed party you’ve got coming up.

Then let dripping drops & colored tips adorn the rest of them.
Ring, ring!

Here’s to hoping your digits survive the night unlike everyone

Our Fall Fashion Checklist For The Perfect Capsule Wardrobe
CLICK ON THE PICTURES TO SHOP :)
Fall fashion brings transitional, traditional pieces as well as new trends. Combining both can sometimes can feel overwhelming. But we believe we have the answer to being successful in both: the capsule wardrobe. Let us help guide you towards what we think should be at the top of your fall fashion checklist!
Flannels
Oversized is in! Cropped is out! And pops of colors are trending, not just muted fall tones. So don’t be afraid to go bold, or go home.
Sweaters
Cropped Cardigans are a fierce look when paired with denim or over a dress. And we love the curvy illusion it gives to the body when worn with a high waisted option.
Cable knit is back, baby! Let it be chunkier knit & pair it with something tighter on the bottom.
Pro tip: go full Olsen’s twins because we will support that look always… Mary Kate, is that you?
Basic or v-neck sweaters that are simple cotton, knit, or cashmere are perfect! We always opt for black. But we won’t be judge-y, Your neutral color of choice is fine by us.
Turtle necks are everywhere! We’re seeing a lot of the thin and fitted turtle neck sweaters that are great to tuck into a skirt or jeans. We’re calling it Chic Steve Jobs… just kidding! Kind of.
Polo Sweaters are the polished and preppy look of the season that never go out of style! They’re easy to dress up or down which make them timeless & classic.
Basic Tees
Black and white tees are good to have around for all seasons. They’re perfect for Fall layering & they look classy tucked into your pant of choice as well.
Button Up Shirt
We are seeing more oversized than fitted style trends lately. Not sure how to style it uniquly? Try front tucking it into your denim, or do the half tuck better known as the French tuck. We also love the open look worn with a bodysuit or crop top and jeans.
Slip Dress
Dress it up, dress it down, wear it out, or throw a tee over it and wear it with a sneaker. The options are endless!
Trend Alert: cowl neck
Mini/Midi Skirts
You can make either of these dressy or casual with the right top.
Feeling cas? Rock a sweater, graphic tee, or plain tee and add a sneaker.
Dress it up! Throw on a bodysuit, tight sweater, silk cami, or blouse and pair it with a heeled bootie.
Statement Jacket
Whether the plaid or Sherpa jacket is your style of choice, or the moto faux leather jacket, you need to make a statement that boldly fits who you are. Fall tones of browns or greens are in, but so are the pops of lime green and hot pink!
Jeans
Dark wash denim is what Fall is all about! And you can never go wrong with black or grey.
Trendy Tip: if you’re keeping it simple this fall, stick with a basic straight leg with little to no distressing so it can easily go from day to night and work to night out!
Eat, drink, & be scary. Or stop in for a spell, we’d love to see you and help style a look! Either way, we hope you have a frighteningly good Halloween that doesn’t include any ghosting!

Thanksgiving is the official start to the holiday season. It’s a day filled with parades & balloons, traditions & trots, living room fashion & family recipes. We love this time of year & the warmness it brings, not to mention the holiday shopping that it inevitably kicks off. But before we get to that, let’s focus on things we’re currently grateful for like nail fads, non-traditional recipes, polished looks, & drinking games, because well...It's us!
But first the nails...
It’s safe to say we’re obsessed with switching up our manicures & we’ve got one that is too adorable to pass up! Get your talons ready for turkey day with our new favorite tone: brown!
This new trendy twist on the classic French tip manicure is all the rave right now.
Just paint two nails of your choice a solid brown. French tip two others.
And add a fun pattern or design on the last.
It might appear simple, but it’s all gravy, baby!
And we LOVE it.
Feeling a foodie hangover from your holiday feast?
Here’s an easy idea on what to do with your leftovers that are overflowing out of your fridge!Grilled Cheese Turkey Sandwich
We’re not kidding.
Butter up some bread, select your fave slice of cheese, grab those turkey scraps, spread on some cranberry sauce that no one touched from the day before, & you’re ready to fry up the most delicious turkey sandwich you’ve ever had in your entire life.
Next year, you’ll be thankful we shared this delicious secret with you all.
So, you’re welcome!
#TDOOTD (Turkey Day Outfit of The Day)
It’s the age old fashion joke that on Thanksgiving you get dressed in your Thursday best just to go sit in your living room. Well, they aren’t exactly wrong. But what’s wrong with dressing cozy casual too? So here some style inspo for whether you choose to go fancy for the fam or comfy for the couch!
Blouses are the easiest way to up any outfit game. Whether it’s striped, patterned, or bold in color, we think a silk or satin blouse looks CLASSY AF for any occasion, especially around the holidays. Pair with loose denim or leather pants/skirt & wear some booties to make your outfit as hot as the apple pie.
Elevate your look with ease by adding a plaid shacket to your outfit. We’re loving the neutral tones of creams, greys, & whites, but are feeling somewhat keen on the bolder greens we’ve been seeing too. Add your go-to white tee, slightly tucked in of course, along with some cropped denim & you’ll forever be the coolest looking cousin on the scene.
A PARTY ON YOUR PANTS
Dress up your denim with Good American diamond denim. There’s no better way to sparkle this holiday season than to let what you’re dressed in do all the talking so bedazzle your family with this new fashion trend that they’ll be talking about well into the New Year. We’re thinking these would look great with a black fine knit sweater or white faux leather shirt.
Sweaters are a fall holiday’s best friend. They’re the right amount of cute paired with the right amount of comfort for an outfit that is ready for all the stuffing & cranberry sauce consumption. Think bright pops of pink, chunky knit, & cardigan style, or opt for the classic oversized sweater in browns, blacks, or forest greens.
It's giving...the Hot-single-fun Aunt...
Show up wearing a LBD (little black dress) to Thanksgiving dinner. Add your fave stilettos & be thankful that most of the day is spent sitting down. We also won’t judge you if you bring along your slippers to change into ASAP for right after turkey time at the table.
COMFY AF can take you from pre-dinner prep to post pie snooze.
Track sets are not solely for the Turkey Trot. They are totally tasteful for the dinner table as well! Grab those sweatpants, tee, & matching zip up hoodie for a couch to table & back to couch look that will be all about the comfort & joy we’re all seeking this holiday season.
Comfy but Styled

Can’t decide if you want to go for a luxurious holiday fit or couture comfort? These pants are something in-between with an outfit set that looks casually chic! Flowy pants that are fashionable, but loose enough for your food baby ? Sign us up for this holiday look!
GOBBLE TIL’ YOU WOBBLE: DRINKING EDITION
They say the holidays can bring out the best & the worst in families. Well here’s a distraction for when either of those options become a reality with a Thanksgiving Day drinking game.
Here’s how to play:
Drink whenever…
- A family member comments on your job or relationship status
- Football scores are mentioned
- You see a balloon in the parade
- There’s talk about Black Friday Deals
- You see someone posted their Turkey Day meal on social media
- Someone asks when it’s time for dessert
- Your fave cousin shows up
- Another holiday is talked about
- Small talk about the weather blooms
- Chug your drink whenever the inevitable talk of politics will commence.
- Take a shot if Kanye is mentioned
*Feel free to add your own, you know your family & their traditions best!
(This game would be perfect for Friendsgiving too!)

Watch Something besides Football...
Do you love Dan Levy as much as we do? Yes! EWW DAVID... From Schitt's Creek
The Big Brunch, hosted and created by Dan Levy, is a new show on HBO Max. If you’re unfamiliar, here’s the set-up: The show follows 10 chefs, all of whom use food as an opportunity to connect with their communities. Though they are each competing for $300,000, Levy defines the show more as a “celebration” of each chef, than a competition. It's a cute, and easy watch. We are OBSESSED!
